I had no idea. Really, Angela. I posted this as a part of a series that had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with that guy. Don't even know who he is.
Matina, that does not change the fact that the noose -- whether left in a teacher's chair, or used as a visual poem titled "Go Hang Yourself" -- is a symbol of hate.
You play at satire all the time. What gives you the right to say this? It's very hypocritical.
Fact is, you owe me an apology for how nastily you accused me of throwing this image up with the intention to poke fun at a writer who had just hung himself.
I checked the New York Times article. He hung himself Friday night. I posted this Friday afternoon. It probably didn't make news until the following day. See? Pure coincidence.
Maybe other people can take your unwarranted attacks. I, for one, will not.
If you have such an issue with my work, you would address me like an adult in e-mail, like I have done with you. You chose to ignore that e-mail. Your choice.
I thought about taking this post down, but will not do it; it makes an even stronger statement now.
